Jerry Volpe, the consultant who handles all purchasing and bidding for the Atlantic City Housing Authority and has been criticized for a lack of materials needed to make repairs, is now the interim executive director of the Linden Housing Authority in Union County. Volpe was appointed to the position at the Linden authority's Wednesday board meeting, Deputy Director Kathy Sanders said Friday. Under the resolution passed by the Linden board, he will be paid $106,750 per year for a minimum of 20 hours of work per week, she said.
